The 3D Consortium (www.3dc.gr.jp/english) was created in 2003 (among others from SHARP, SANYO, SONY) with the intention to bring together organisations developing stereographic technologies and applications in order to create an environment for commercialisation.

The Consortium has more than 100 member organisations and is very active in Japan and the Far East. The Consortium has held two meetings for the members in Europe, in 2003 in Luxembourg and 2005 in London.
